She found a thick lining from the depo shot you got because I got that shot for a birth control once and I have been bleeding for 5 months straight it did the opposite and made my lining thick instead of thinning it out worst mistake I have ever made !!

I have been bleeding so heavy with clots the size of my hand. I went to the doctor I have a thick uterus and my doctor did a biopsy and it came back negative. All my problems are from the depo shot I have had 2 shots and spotted for 6 months before the heavy bleeding started. Needless to say I will not be doing the shot again. A good diet and exercize will help your uterus get back to normal. a thick uterus does not mean cancer but it can lead to cancer, this is what the internet does not tell us ladies. My doctor gave me samples of "Lo Loestrin" to stop the bleeding it was wonderful because I don't have insurance and to see him was $440 dollars. So if the bleeding is making you crazy ask your doctor to give you Lo Loestrin.

Hi, I have the same kind of thing, I am told the lining is so thick due to not ovulating. I also have endometriosis but apparently this is not the reason for the thick lining. Hope this helps and you get a resolution.

i had recently went through this, i have taken provera for 14 days and i had excessive bleeding and painful cramps to where i couldn't stand and i was going through more than a pad an hour but after finishing the 14 day provera the bleeding stopped within a week my doctor told me thats what provera does it causes excessive bleeding and painful cramps because its braking down the uterine lining but after that everything should be normal. Good Luck !

Hey, did u find out how to fix your thick lining of uterus? Did birth control help thin it out? I'm 30, and had a thick lining of 17.9mms. Doc didn't seem to worry and jus prescribed me birth control. Never took birth control but he said it would help me bleed more. Can you update me with your situation?

Hello, I am going through VERY similar issues...I'm waiting for my dr to do a biospy on my uterus lining, what were you results. We are close in age and I've had no children. Most of the stuff I read about uterine cancer is for post menopausal women. Although I do know it can still occur in younger women too.

Yes I have but I am also starting to suffer from some dementia and found that four of my medications are at risk for dementia including Provera so I want to get off. Today I spoke to my GP who seems to be very up on Research and he suggested I stop it because research does not indicate that it reduces the instances of cancer. I have decided to do that. Have had to have several uterine tests and biopsies to make sure I have not develop cancer and I feel that is probably my best route. Good luck with your decisions
