Exactly whilst I've been going through!!! Just left the gyno today and she said I had thickening. Prescribed a couple meds and said come back in a week if no change. Did you ever find out anything? I'm also 25.

Have you heard of a d&c and hysteroscopy?

I hope you went back, being afraid and hoping that ignoring a problem never works and could lessen the chance of successfully fixing it. You however didn't know if you actually had a problem and if you did, it's not uncommon or necessarily the worst case scenario. I truly believe it's better to be proactive than to hide because you keep worrying anyway which is bad for your health.

I hope all of you have considered asking your doctor's about endometriosis. I was diagnosed at age 20, they tied my tubes, took left ovary, ruptured a cyst on right ovary, all in three surgeries. I have my months where I have no symptoms and my months I'm bleeding so badly that I'm in the emergency room screaming in pain. The pain feels like throbbing sharp intense pain in lower abdomen and sometimes upper abdomen. I have digestive issues, severe fatigue, I had taken the depot provera shot for twelve months because the doctor recommended it, I started having bone density issues, loss of teeth at 25 years old, broken bones and fractures, and then stopped it and went to a different doctor who told me to try provera pills. I was willing to try anything to slow period down. I've lost so much weight, I wake my fiance up screaming as nothing touches the pain, and the only thing that calms the sharp shooting pain in lower abdomen radiating to my back and contracting feeling pain is Xanax prescribed for my anxiety due to this. I can't work, I have a child, I'm always nauseous and sick, and I just want my life back. The lupron shot is not recommended by me.. unless you want more side effects to add to the other symptoms.

I have the same problems as a lot of you. 55 yrs old now. Started period very young. Periods were always 2 weeks long, heavy bleeding, large clots, BAD cramps, had trouble conceiving, had fibroids, was given Lupron shot with tons of bad side effects. Fibroids were removed and just completed a two month long bleeding cycle.........But here is the interesting part.....

Here's the thing, I don't know this for a FACT and I am not a medical doctor - BUT I have seen HUGE improvements of less cramping, clotting, heavy bleeding and even thick uterus "has improved" all by doing ONE thing - removing ALL soybean, soy and soy lecticin from my diet. Here's the thing, soy products are in virtually EVERYTHING we eat. Anything processed - read the label, 3rd or 4th ingredient is soybean oil, soy, or soy lecticin - in bread, in salad dressing in coffee creamer, etc...Here's the deal SOY is a plant ESTROGEN. When consumed - it acts much like the "natural estrogen" we have in our bodies. Just like all the sugar the food industry has added to everything that is making us fat and giving us diabetes. All the soy - both genetically modified and otherwise-in just about everything we eat is messing with our female hormone system - throwing our cycles, our menstruation and everything out of wack. Just think - everyday - how much "plant estrogen" your consuming daily. I think that's why sooo many women are having soooo many female issues.

In reply to the last guest. I "googled": soy + female period troubles
and have found lots of interesting articles on the internet on how eating lots of soy affects women's periods and the possibility of infertility and longer cycles, etc. I started suspecting my issues were soy products about 3 years ago and I became what I call "mostly vegan" without soy products (though) and small amounts of red meat, chicken and turkey. I also started a good quality multi-vitamin. I too have seen my endometriosis and long painful heavy severe periods lessen and become much more tolerable. Good luck to everyone in finding answers to their female health problems!

I have had heavy bleeding for about 10 years now. I'm 38. Regular pap appts with clear pap tests. Nothing abnormal. Have never took birth control. I was always told it's just a heavy period. I go thru 4 tampons an hour and 4 pads as well. Huge blood clots the size of baseball's. I feel like I'm giving birth. 3 months ago I felt like I was dying. I was rushed to er. Severely anemic. Full range of tests. Biopsy of uterus. Camera in uterus. Bloodwork. Results were no polyps. No cysts. No fibroids. No cancer. Hormone levels were perfect. No reason as to why I bleed like this. My diagnosis was dysfunctional uterus. Sent home with iron pills. Told to follow up with obgyn. She tried provera only pill. I'm still bleeding really bad. My option was ablation or hysterectomy. I've been bleeding since Sept 1. It's Dec 25th now. The bleeding has changed my life. I can't go anywhere. I have to wear pills ups daily. I wake up at least every hour at night to change my tampon and clean myself up. Forgot about going anywhere. Once those huge blood clots come out I bleed thru everything in about 5 seconds. I can't grocery shop. I really can't leave my house. I hemmorage all day every day. I really dont know how im still alive. Then if I lift anything or use my stomach muscles to get up from a chair etc, I have a huge blood clot coming out. So if I pick up a laundry basket I know I'm going to hemmorage bad with a huge blood clot. At this point the progesterone isn't working. It's been 4 days. I'm assuming it's thinning my lining. As mine was very thick. 22 mm. Just don't know what else to do. I'm leaning towards hysterectomy. I'm just sick of this. I can't go out. I can't do anything. I cant leave my house. Any suggestions? Does it get better with Progesterone? Any other medicine I can try?

I hope by now that you've dealt with your issue since this is a long time ago now. I don't know whether you tried the D&C or Provera. I've done both many times now and am STILL growing a lining at 62 years of age. The Provera caused EXTREMELY heavy bleeding and the D&C (had 2 of them) caused bleeding as well but, it did stop the bleeding, only to return again. I've had so many biopsies that I can't count them anymore. I had a thickness of 1.5 cms or 15 mm and don't know what I'm at now. I hope you got yours worked out. Can you share?
