My husband has been on a low dose of Keppra for almost a year due to a subdural hematoma. He was on Coumadin & fell. Before the fall he had A-fib & missed beats. Since, he has had no A-fib. Could the Kepra also be controling this?Code:

Keppra (Kepra) is an anticonvulsive medication, and it’s impossible to answer whether it had any (luckily, you are talking about positive) effect on your husband’s heart because it is definitively proven only that it has anticonvulsive properties, but even for those remains unknown how it exactly works. They suspect that it slows down brain waves, but that’s about it. Although it hasn’t even been reported that it has any negative effects on heart (I hope your husband is taking it well otherwise), who knows, maybe they just haven’t studied the drug in conditions like these.
