I have been off subs for 2 days now and Ive been taking like 2 Vicodin each day and it helps take the edge off completely. I just wanna make sure its not gonna prolong the detox. I can manage the Vic's or percs I don't like them they make my stomach hurt so I won't abuse them.

I definitely would not take Vicodin if you are trying to get off of Suboxone. Vicodin is very addictive, if not more addictive than Suboxone. Pretty much what you are doing is trading one addictive drug for another. If you are trying to get off of narcotics you should never substitute it for another narcotic. I take Vicodin every day because I have a debilitating medical condition, but I sometimes stop for a period of time and there is one medication, that is not a narcotic, that takes away the withdrawals completely. It's called Gabapentin. It's used to prevent seizures and help with nerve pain. You have to get a prescription from the doctor, but it's a miracle drug.

In my opinion it is of course always best to taper down off off any Med that affects the dopamine receptors. With sub this is VERY IMPORTANT from my experience. Suboxone is the hardest thing I have ever quit do to its ability to linger, but I digress. What I found helped me & many others is gabapentin. I used it to ween off suboxone & it was easy.
