I also thought i had a UTI. i went into my doctor and the tests came back negative. They also tested for pregnancy and that also came back negative. The symtoms went away in the next week so i just forgot about it... a month later i went back into the doctor from being sick. I WAS PREGNANT. I'm not positive but i think i was having the UTI symptoms from concieving my child...i think it was just to early at the time to tell if i was pregnant or not.

Oh dear, I feel your pain....literally. I just went to the urologist today and got negative results for a UTI but feel just the way you do. However, I do wanna mention a few things that somehow ease the pain fairly quickly. 1. DRINK WATER. period. Every time I felt pain in my bladder even when I wasn't urinating, I'd drink a full glass of water and it would feel better shortly after. 2. AVOID CAFFEINE, ACIDIC, AND SUGAR DRINKS. Caffeine and acidic drinks agitate your bladder and sugar doesn't cleanse your system. Neither one of these help. 3. PEE AFTER SEX. Don't even stick it out for cuddle time after. PEE THEN CUDDLE!!!!! This is the #1 reason people get UTI's. 4. STAY HYDRATED. This will keep your tract clean and will prevent you from getting kidney stones. DRINK WATER. In a nutshell.....(DRINK LOTS OF WATER) It'll help I swear. Good luck to ya'll...it seems to working for me so far.

Hello to all,

I think you could be right "unregistered". I am in so much pain at the moment and have been like this for almost 5 days. I think that I have had too much soft drink again and also have been dehydrated from not drinking enough water.

Thank you for reminding me. I will have a new years resolution and put a focus on drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water a day.

Thank you for this very helpful post. I will get on it straight away.

When I think about what I have had last week, I tick all the things you have listed in number 2. i.e. caffeine, acidic drinks and sugary drinks.

I am on pain killers at the moment just so I can go to work and hope that I can flush myself quickly. It is unbearable.

Hi Ladies,

I have also had all symptoms above and recently been admitted to hospital 2 times with in a month of each visit. My uti's are always sex related, I was constatntly being told .. all tests clear!! what the hell.. Then docotors telling me I had Pelvic Inflamatory Disease, then I went and saw a nurse for a pap smear and she said i didnt have PID, If I did she would've been able to see it with the naked eye apon my pap examination, the she told me I have an inverted uterus!! Thanks nurse, im only 30 and noone has ever told me!!.. and why not?

after all the years of pain and frustration surely someone could have put it together.. I have been doing some research online, 1 in 3 women have an inverted or tilted or retroverted uterus, and all of our symptoms mirror those of inverted uterus, uti symptoms pain during certain sexual positions, abdonimal discomfort.. etc etc, apparently it can be corrected through massage or chiropractic and kinesiology, I am having a chiropractor research this for me and she is getting incontact with others in her field to help with this situation. Also surgery is an option but I am resorting to that last.. Interesting to find out..

yes yes yes. i have the exact same thing. all the symptoms of a uti, but nothing detectable. ive had std tests.. uti test. im completely clean but these annoying symptoms wont go away! the burning feeling. the needing to pee feeling. and more discharge than normal. just wasnt good down there. general discomfort everyday. i dont recall when it started happening but ive always been pretty sensitive to foods. anyway i decided to go raw a month ago.. and guess what. after a day of eating completely raw foods and cutting out milk sugar dairy and breads.. the symptoms COMPLETELY dissapeared. i really believe it must have something to do with a food allergy or intolerance. maybe a build up of toxins or something. i agree it could definitely be sugar. as soon as i came of this diet, BAM the symptoms are back. it also made me aware that i was constantly feeling bloated, but so used to it i thought it normal. i cant think of another explanation as to what this could be other an intolerance of something i am putting in my body. im going to go on this diet again just to make sure.

I have the same UTI symptoms without any infection. This has been on/off since 2011 with some episodes lasting for a month. I take over the counter Pyridium and it is a miracle in stopping the pain and helping me to pee normal. The Uro/Gyn said that I can take it as much as I need to. I wouldn't take it non-stop because there is a weird anemia that can be associated with overuse, but if you need to do your normal activities-- this may actually help!

I have had very similar problems. Durring college it was so bad that I had to be put on the disabilities list because I could hardly function. I went to all kinds of specialists and no one could figure it out. They finally ruled out interstitial cystitis and wanted to start experimenting and I had had enough. fortunately I seemed to get a bit of a reprieve and it seemed to get better. It still bothers me but not as bad and it only gets bad every now and then particularly when I am under stress and my immune system is probably working too hard. There was some study I read about years ago that said that the bacteria or whatever it was when you got a uti was living in the lining of the bladder and not free floating and the tests for a uti only test for free floating bacteria. I think that we all probably have the same thing and it just hasn't been identified yet. I think that there is also hope ladies and that at some point some smart doctors will sit down and think this problem through. Until then I think that we should keep the aggravating food and drinks to a minimum, take all of the other suggestions mentioned, get plenty of sleep, and try to minimize stress. stress makes any health problem worse and diminishes your body's ability to protect you from it. I will go and try to find that study and try to contact the doctors to see if any progress has been made. google searches are the best. seriously destress and sleep as much as you can as difficult as that may be under the circumstances... oh avoid most teas...serious triggers for me especially my favorites like constant comment

Thought I would pass along something that has helped me. When I was young I was allergic to many foods, artificial additives etc. As I grew older I continued to get UTIs. I once mentioned to my urologist that I thought I saw a connection to soft drinks, he didn't say much, nothing had been proven. In my 20s I did a food elimination diet to see what foods was giving me problems (diet was adding a specific food type back into your diet at a time). Without having soft drinks for 2.5 months I had a dark-colored cola. Within 24 hours I had a UTI and about to die, I also am in constant pain when I get UTIs, not just when I go to the bathroom. A couple years later I was at event where there wasn't Sprite or Mountain Dew and had one can of Coke, in one day I died again. I think I am sensitive to the dark coloring in soft drinks. I stay away from they like the plague. I once had a long vacation at a location where we had all meals family style and I drank orange juice at each meal. Ah-hah yes I literally died of a UTI on vacation, had to have doctor call me in something. So I don't care what a urologist told me the in the past. I stay away from SOFT DRINKS and drinking JUICES for several sittings. Good luck in the future. Listen to what your body tells you, it doesn't lie.
