My daughter is 11 years old and she has gotten her period. She told me she started getting bumps at least 2 or 3 days after her period. She says that it is big and it hurts when she sits down. I'm pretty worried about her and I'm not sure what to do myself. I tell her she should see the doctor, but she is uncomfortable with it... What can I do?

I do! At first I thought I was getting yeast infections because of my birth control. When I stopped taking them the symptoms stopped happening as frequent (before every month I would get a YI basically the same time I had my period.) However, the last time I got my period I got the symptoms the night before my period came. I don't know why this happens my GYN has not been able to give me a reason. I also have found very little research that state any correlation between the two. All I know is I went 19 years YI free and I would kill to go back to that. It is uncomfortable, inconvenient, and a little embarrassing.

I'm 53 and it has been happening for years. I did notice that it happens at the same time of every month when it does happen. So I am positive it is harmonal. My body thinks it's still going to have a period but I no longer have them. Had hysterectomy 10 yrs ago.

First off all, a doctor wouldn't prescribe you something that you couldn't handle, so yeah... And second of all, every medicine has it's own side effects so don't worry, you are completely safe. :). But I'm not a professional doctor or anything, so ask your doctor about the concerns that you have.
