A few weeks ago I had a large cyst looking lump on the side of my vagina that went away after night... a few days after I had sex with my boyfriend of over a year and the left side of my vagina got extremely swollen and burned super bad whenever I urinated. After googling what it could be we had sex today for the first time in two weeks and it was extremely slow, not rough at all because it was so early in the morning. after, both sides of my vagina were swollen but not as bad as they had been before. Whenever I walked or moved around my vagina continued to get more irritating and hurt more but after putting ice on it for a few minutes it immediately went down. I am wondering what could be causing this since I have been having sex for a while without ever noticing this problem.

Hi, I had a similar thing last year. I also freaked out because to me it was a huge lump/swelling so I went to my doctor the next day. Turned out it was a blocked gland. What causes a Bartholin gland cyst?Things like an infection, thick mucus, or swelling can block a Bartholin gland duct and cause a cyst. The cyst can get bigger after sex, because the glands make more fluid during sex. My doctor gave me some antibiotics and I was all good a week later.  She could give me no real reason for it but said it is not unusual.  Off sex and on the medication for a week and I have not had it since.  Just one of those things. Hope I helped. :)
