This is happening to me right now. I should have already been done with my period, and now i started cramping and bleeding again, I have go through several pads and tampons. I went in to the bathroom the other day to go pee and passed a large piece of tissue and it had been the same thing for the last two days. I have tried looking this up on Web MD but no luck. I am getting a little bit nervous that it is something serious. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks

I just had this happen to me tonight, I am on the nuva ring and this is my second month now and have had my period for two weeks now. I have had bad cramping and the first week I was just spotting and this week it got heavier. Tonight the tissue came out and it freaked me out and I thought I had a miscarriage because that is the only thing I could find on the internet that was similar to the symptoms. I would really like to know what you guys found out from the doctor because I am worried. Thanks!

Ok I spotted for like 9 days and it was a brown color. And then I got my period while I was supposed to, I am on the pill and u was having severe cramping so I jumped in a warm bath and felt something come out of my vagina, I looked and there was a huge bloody flesh looking chunk. I'm not sure what it was and I googled it, lamb found was miscarriage..

I have had really heavy cramping the last couple of weeks, which is normal before my period [usually]. I am on the patch and the week that I was supposed to not wear one [this is where I would start my period] I put one on anyways [woops]. I didn't know if I should just take it off, thinking I would risk getting pregnant and figured if I wore it then I would just be really protected. Well, my period never came. My boyfriend that I am with pulls out anyway so I highly doubt that I am pregnant. So the cramping started but I never began bleeding. One day there was faint pink blood [like faint/light colored pink watercolor wash] just once after I went pee... but no period...this happened the week I should have started but I put a patch on. Now, three weeks later, no period and cramping is getting worse where I have to take up to six ibuprofrens a day and it still doesn't help [six 200 MG]. Yesterday, thi is nearly four weeks later, I began bleeding, lightly, brownish-red. I wore a tampon, changed it twice and the next morning pulled it out and there was a tad of the brownish-color and this light-pink colored flesh-tissue... it ripped like soft skin. It seems, after all my reading that this could be the linning of my uterus - it was about 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 in L & W. I thought it may be blocking me from bleeding so now I am not wearing a tampon and have gone pee twice and no blood on the tissue... Cramping is really heavy and I feel nausated! What does this mean??

This happened to me too! This is my first period since I've started birth control and I started to get worried my insides were coming out! Whenever someone has results, please post. Hopefully it's just the build up like some have said.

This happened to me, too, and not only was I on birth control, but I hadn't had sex in almost a year. So no possibility that it was a miscarriage, unless I was carrying the second miracle. Mine was about the size of 4 quarters, though (if not larger) and accompanied by an outrageous cramp (I'm guessing that was the detachment cramp).

Anyway, after some research, I'm pretty sure the above poster was correct: it's just a massive loss of endometrium (the lining of the uterus). When I looked at mine, it was about the right thickness for an endometrial lining, vascular (I could see the blood vessels and it was red on the side), and fatty (the white stuff on the opposite side).

I've had clotting in the past, but never anything like this - however, I'm not too worried about it. Definitely not a miscarriage, very odd, but apparently just one of those weird things that uteruses can do.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday! In 17 and on the Nuva ring. This is my first period on it and I have very little bleeding which I expected. Then I felt myself bleed through a tampon so I went to change it and found this thing like everyone is describing. Its not like a clot cause I know what those are like. It was like four inches long and pretty thick and bloody red, a little white and some black blood. I freaked out cause I dont know what it is and cause it somehow got through my tampon...? I went to my mom and she said it was probably a clot, which I'm doubting so I don't know what to do. Also I'm really tender on the outside down there. It kinda hurts to sit and such, I don't know if they are linked but I thought I would add it. Some one please help!!! Im terrified!!!

I think the Nuva Ring in particular has some side effects not mentioned by my doctor or on their website.  Within 4 days of starting it, I was breaking out with zits and painful little boils on my face, scalp, chest.  I thought I could feel the ring itself and didn't like the feeling.  I removed the ring had a ton of white/pale pink secretions, very chunky like a yeast infection, but kind of like very thin skin, that has continued for over a week.   I also got an extra period for the month, much heavier than normal, with plenty of cramping.   It's a bit scary and I'm glad I have an appointment for an annual pap test because I have more than a few questions about this "free sample" that has cost me plenty in the way of comfort.  Not sure yet, but the nuva ring seems to have irritated my insides and is not nearly as safe/easy/useful as I was led to believe.  There has to be a better solution.

Planned parenthood offers some medical services on a sliding fee scale depending on your income.  Not sure this would be something they could diagnose, but might be worth giving them a call.  If nothing else, they can probably refer to you to someone.

Yesterday morning I had the same discharge as mentioned above. I am a nurse and still thought it was a possible miscarriage. I took the specimen to the physician yesterday afternoon to have pathology take a look. I also had a blood pregnancy test that came back today as negative. The physician I spook with yesterday thought right away that the specimen was nothing but a clot. The same mentioned 'tissue' lining being shed during mensus. This is actually the second time this has happened to me. The first time I did not see a doctor following the episode. Unlike the first time, this experience led to being shaky throughout the day and an elevated BP. I will reply again with my pathology results. Possible problems: urterin fibroids, polups, extra lining tissue... These are a few things I have found with some research. Nothing really fits though.

i just got back from ER n follow up appt with obgyn, this is normal... It is lining of ur cervix shedding. Mine was extremely thick n hurt bad. I also bled very heavily. I also was on seasonal when this happened. Rest assured you are fine, but go see a doctor as it can be a bacterial infection too

I am experiencing the exact same problem but I am not on birth control..I was taking vaginal creme for BV and this is the second time it has happened after I have taken the creme. It looks like bloody tissues (flesh like) and the blood is bright red. It really scares me because I can be sitting on the toilet and it will just drop out. The tissues arent in the blood anymore but I am still bleeding heavy. I am so nervous and hoping my creme has not caused any infertility :( My doctor told me that the meds should not be causing any heavy bleeding so I am so nervous. Someone please let me know what you think because I am freaking out.
