I've had this happen twice now. It's the lining of the uterus shedding (at least mine are). I feared I was pregnant without knowing it the first time, but NOPE -- blood test proved that was not the case (and further action was not needed, as it would have been in the case of a miscarriage, like a D&C, as my mother needed when she miscarried). It was also not cancerous (again, in my case), as a biopsy had to be performed since I took the tissue to the hospital to be checked out. No, it's NOT a blood clot -- you can wash the blood away. It is actual tissue that can be about 1/8" thick and NOT red that requires a good amount of force to tear apart with your hands (if it's not happened to you, yeah, that's hard to accept and it's easy to call us all dumb. We're not -- you just have not experienced this yourself to know. I'll email you my pictures if you like). My first one was painful as all get out. If the pain got any worse, I would have gone to the hospital. I've taken many pictures of the second piece. It actually had a few tiny spheres inside a triangular-shaped piece of skin (again, in my case). The spheres were filled with a nearly clear liquid, or perhaps a bit pink in color. I have not spoken to someone to find out what THAT all means (did my body try to create a small uterus inside by uterus? Probably not, but strange things happen). No, I was not on the Shot and never have been. I have been on a few types of pills and also did the Patch and the Ring a few years prior to the first passing. Birth control could have played a role, but I cannot say either way -- who's to say I wouldn't have passed it if I was NOT on birth control? Maybe I still would have.
Here's to hoping you're all healthy! It may not be a miscarriage, but a proper blood test AND biopsy of the tissue can confirm all of that. If needed, hit up a Planned Parenthood and go from there -- they operate on a sliding scale (= free if you have no income). Note: that may stop if Trump discontinues their funding.
