Vasculitis is a process caused by inflammation of blood vessel walls and results in disorders of organs because of insufficeint blood supply. Classification on large-, medium-, or small-vessel vasculitis is one of possible ways to classify vasculitis, but there is no precise classification yet.1 Small-vessel vasculitis is refered to vasculitis that affects vessels smaller than arteries (i.e., arterioles, venules, and capillaries); but sometimes, in small-vessel vasculitis medium-sized arteries could be effected as well. Small-vessel vasculitis may be further differentiated as ANCA- (Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies) associated or non-ANCA associated vasculitis.
