Okay, I am think I am in a relatively unique position to comment on this topic.

I started smoking right about the time I graduated high school. I am now 23. I was an extremely heavy smoker, no exaggeration. There are times when my friends and I would put away an ounce in a day, between 5 to 6 people.

When I was 21 I got a job traveling the country. This really forced me to take breaks for weeks to months at a time. Now during the first few years of work, the only withdrawals I would experience were cravings and trouble eating... I attribute the eating trouble to my life style. When home and stoned I would gorge myself on 1 to 2 large meals a day. It is very difficult to function like this without smoke, at least for myself. I found the best way around this was to eat something small within the first hour or so after I woke up. This seemed to kick start my metabolism, making me hungry again in a few hours, and I was able to put down what most consider a "normal" meal.

When i turned 23, I took about 5 months off from work, switching jobs. During this time I returned to my smoking habits of the previous years. When I started up my job again, my first trip, I was violently sick - extreme nausea, vomiting, and severe pain. I ended up going to the hospital and staying the night. I had a battery of tests performed. Cat scans, x rays, even an endoscopy. All the results came back reading that I was an average human being in perfect health.

My next trip I had the same issue, again I went to the hospital, again all my tests were negative for any ailment. At this point I was very very scared, not knowing if I had a more serious condition.

My next trip that I actually started a few days ago, brought same pains. I only vomited once and did not go to the hospital. The pain subsided much more quickly, however it still is with me most every morning, no matter what I do. It is with me even now.

I am getting some smoke from a good Samaritan, and will test my theory of withdrawals causing my pain in the AM and re-post when I do.

i know this is an old thread, but if anyone with expertise could comment for me, i would be extremely appreciative.
