Hello,
I am a 21 year old male. My height is 5'8" and i am 140lbs. I am quite healthy physically. I am currently a college student studying physics and these symptoms are really affecting my life at this moment.
So during this summer, i decided to try weed. I only smoked through a timeframe of about 2-3 weeks, but my friends commented that i may have done too much. I only felt high twice throughout that time period, but those times were the times i took too many hits and i had bad trips. The last time i used it gave me a bad trip and i decided that i didn't want to do weed anymore. My friends commented that i was very sensitive to it; i only needed 4 hits to get that last paranoia trip. I fear i may have abused weed a bit.
Afterwards, I experienced withdrawals. The first week was horrible... only averaging 5 hours of sleep per night. I was also sent to the hospital twice for panic attacks. But as the days went on, the symptoms seemed to lessen. Now, 3 weeks after the onset of withdrawals, i thought i was doing okay. I have been exercising and hitting the sauna every once in a while to sweat the toxins out. I was getting much better sleep, but last night i a had another anxiety episode that wouldn't let me sleep. i got about 2 hours of sleep that night, and i tried napping the next day, but i never truly dozed off. It feels like different symptoms are coming back and developing. They are not as bad as the first week, but the fact that they seem to be coming back again is scaring me.
So here are my questions:
Is it normal for the symptoms to come back stronger like they did to me 3 weeks into my quitting? Do marijuana withdrawals come in phases of intensity?
Is it normal for me to be experiencing these things in such intensity with only smoking for 2-3 weeks?
How long would it take for these symptoms to end? When will i be back to normal? Will my brain balance again?

Okay. First of all you shouldn't really be doing marijuana to trip out. Yes it can get you tripping but it has many other uses. I recommend taking Salvia divinorum if you want a short but deep trip as it's a lot more potent as it contains one of the most potent natural ingredients known, Salvorin A. Weed is to expensive to trip on and so on. Also you are an adult, meaning, in my opinion anyway, that your brain should definitely get back to normal at least if you or any of your previous family members have or have had a mental illness . It shouldn't take too long now actually. If you don't feel right after another week or so, personally I would smoke more, it should ease and put these symptoms on 'hold' or maybe even cure some of them, I reckon. I smoke weed anyway, but remember to go easy on it. It's a wonderful herb if you smoke it the right way. And in case you want to know, the main reason why I smoke it is to clear my mind cause right now I got a lot going on see.
So try to relax and take it easy. Some of these symptoms could even be psychological meaning they are based on what you are thinking/ feeling. So talk to someone close and tell yourself you are gonna get through this. That's about all I have to say. Sorry if you expected a different answer, but I just hope I helped, at least a little :b
Orite, good luck, mate, and remember take it easy, chill! :)

Thanks for your tips and encouragement. I actually never wanted to trip out on it. i was just inexperienced and i may have done something equivalent to binge drinking, but for pot. I never planned to be a regular smoker, so i probably won't take it again. I guess there was just a lack of self control on my part.

hey, did the effects go away?
I have been seeing a therapist for these symptoms now and i do feel much better. Most of the time i feel normal, but every once in a while the symptoms hit me again. They are fading in intensity and frequency, but they're still there. Apparently, from what i've been learning, it's a long process, but i've been hearing that the symptoms will slowly fade away without you even noticing it. Things are definitely looking better now.

Everyones mind is different and everyone has different reactions and effects. I did every once in a while feel tingling at random places of my body, but for me, one of the more pronounced effects was a burning sensation at the back of my head. I know other people felt other things like headaches and whatnot. If you are concerned about this tingling feeling, a therapist may be a more knowledgeable source of advice, but i wouldn't be too worried about it. This is definitely a long difficult road to tread in life, but i'll assure you, it gets easier. Just remember that panic attacks never killed anyone and remember that the fear of having panic attack is the only obstacle you face. Just tell yourself that. It helped me out alot. I like to think of the anxiety as an annoying little brat or something. Yeah sure, it sucks to have an annoying brat around, but they can't harm you and it will just pass in time. So next time you feel anything coming, don't try to fight it. Just acknowledge its presence and let it pass on through. Do some relaxation techniques like slow deep breathing. These symptoms may make you moody at times, so just keep a watchful eye on your thoughts. If you start worrying about the worst, it's most likely that your mind is just being unreasonable. Just focus on the positive and remember that it will get better. Keep your head up my friend, i'm rooting for you! :)Quote:

hello, i have been a regular smoker(4-5 times a week minimum) for about five years now, and only because i have done my research on it. mariuana does not have any physical withdrawal symptoms, so if you think that you are having withdrawals they are purely mental. some people just dont have the right mindset for it, so yes i would advise you to stay away. there are some incedences when someone will accidentally smoke weed that has been laced with something that is addictive, and that could explain the symptoms. maybe you got a little higher than you thought, i accidentally smoked a blunt laced with pcp once, and i was so high, scary high, that i swear i was sober. never again will i smoke anything besides pure, natural weed. also, that 'legal weed' can make you really sick. so you should probably stay away from that too.

The withdrawals are physical that results in mental symptoms also. And what you smoked was probably weed with very high THC level and no PCP. Could it be laced? Yes, but probably not. THC effect with low CBD and CBN levels is very psychodelic.
