When I was in my early fifties, I experienced vision loss in my right eye while participating in extremely long/difficult running races. While cooling down at the race end the vision slowly returned. I could never get a decent answer as to what caused the problem.

Hi Charlie,
It could be a circulatory problem - including a spasm in some of the vessels in the brain. I'm thinking there was a spasm and blood flow was reduced to the optic nerve.
Are you seeing an opthamologist? An MRI would likely be needed.
