So Linus Pauling, who has won multiple (not just one) nobel prizes for chemistry, claims that Vitamin C can basically do everything. He also claims that it can treat, and nearly "cure" heart disease. In fact, he claims that he has treated a number of patients with heart disease with massive amounts of Vitamin C in this book:

Has anybody read this book? Or knows anything about Vitamin c and heart disease? Because I can understand the idea that you can cure allergies (which I personally have via Vitamin C), or even treat cancer, as both rely on the proper functioning of the immune system. But heart disease? Really?

I'm really skeptical here.
