I would like to hear of possible vitrectomy related risk for I am diagnosed with retina detachment and was immediately scheduled for vitrectomy in two days-I am pretty much confused why this emergency? And am also terrified of vitrectomy I never thought I would be having any eye surgery despite the fact that during all those last years I had some vision problems –like I had some shadow in front of my eyes and the condition has worsened in course of the last months when I started to have sudden light flashes and again those floaters in front of my eyes have become constant. I am aware I need to have this surgery done so I need some info regarding vitrectomy related risks.
