You may not know that you have an acid reflux problem. Google silent reflux. The acid inhibitor drugs worked for me. Good luck.

Laura,
I've been battling this for a couple of months now. It dawned on me finally that it started about the time I decided to ween myself off of the PPI I was taking for Acid Reflux. I read your post and was immediately encouraged that this was indeed the problem. The vaginal burning is intense and lower stomach pain seems to go hand in hand with it. However, the acid reflux does not seem to be an issue. I started taking the PPI again about a week ago and have added the Gaviscon. I am doing better but still not healed. Are you still having the burning pain or did it totally resolve when your PH levels were back in check?

Yes I have had the urge to pee I find if I do a 3 day Monistat it helps! I also started taking nexium and have noticed the burning has subsided! As of now I do think gerd and ph/burning are related! The acids in our throat we swallow it and pee, causes burning! I'm not doc but it kinda makes sense! I'll try gavascon too if it bothers me again

I know this is over a year old now but how long until the gaviscon worked? I was beginning to think there was a connection then I see this thread. Thanks in advance

Hi Debbie, with you introducing this to your everyday life, how quickly did you get relief?

I have the same issue that I have been battling for five years. Do you have the sensation of pressure as well? Have you found anything that helps?

Have you had any luck at finding answers? I have the same problem. Tests...ultrasounds...medicine after medicine and no answers. It will be a year in June that I have dealt with this. It started after taking a prescription of antibiotics.

I have had these symptoms for over four years, since my hysterectomy. About a year ago, I reported to the vulvodynia specialist that the same burning I had in the vulvar area was now in my stomach. It felt EXACTLY the same...just in a different spot. She brushed it off. Finally, I went to get pain management at a pelvic PT facility, and they referred me to a gastroenterologist. after an endo/colonoscopy, he found that my stomach was bleeding and that I also had acid reflux. He put me on omeprezole, and the burning in the vulvar area and stomach diminished...after four years! There has to be a connection. I have had tons of treatments: gabapenton (sp?), Lyrica, tons of topical remedies, which all burned, pudendal nerve blockers, bladder/trigger point injections. No one understood, and NO ONE sent me to the gastro., so I was left for nearly a year w/ bleeding in my stomach! I knew that feeling in the vulvar area had to be related, as it felt the same! I spent years in pain, crying myself to sleep, not able to wear certain clothes, or even to sit for any length of time. If you have a suspicion, GO WITH IT! YOU TELL THE DOCTOR; IT'S YOUR BODY! I hope I have helped just one person. Do not be intimidated by a know-it-a;; doctor, go find another one...Pelvic PT will help you regain muscle strength lost from "guarding," and they will direct you to a gastro.

I am dealing with the same problem too. Burning in the vagina, I went to the ob-gyn and gave antibiotics, and I revisited my family doctor's antibiotic. I realized that my acid reflux was triggered by burning. Coffee is the fine worst thing. I am making an appointment to see a gastrologist

Anyone have any luck at the gastro? I’m dealing with all of these symptoms and trying to figure out how can I explain this to the gastro without them thinking I’m crazy. I have been going through this for 10 years now and need some relief.
