Hi, guest.

It's not uncommon to experience a weird taste in your mouth after having your tonsils removed, as this is a common side effect of the procedure. The taste can be described as metallic, bitter, or sour, and can last for several weeks.

The taste is usually caused by the healing process and the formation of scabs on the tonsil bed, which can create a strange taste in your mouth. Additionally, the use of medications, such as antibiotics or painkillers, can also cause a strange taste.

Typically, this taste will subside on its own within a few weeks after surgery. However, it's always a good idea to consult with your doctor if the taste persists or becomes more severe, as it could be a sign of an infection or other complications.

In the meantime, you can try rinsing your mouth with salt water or sucking on ice chips to help alleviate the taste. Avoid smoking or using alcohol-based mouthwashes, as these can irritate the throat and prolong the healing process.
