I've had my tonsils out and also 1 lingual tonsil removed, but I still have an awful taste in my mouth, and cough up, stone-like stuff, sometimes. I tried acid reflux meds and they didn't help. What could cause this?

Hi Judith,

When did you have taken your tonsils out? Were there any complications during the procedure? I know that you can’t have any food or liquids few hours after the surgery, but is there a possibility that you had something and that it is cause your bad breath?

Sometimes the scabs that form on the wounds can give you a bad breath also. However if this procedure is done long time ago that you are having some other problem. People usually lose their bad breath after the procedure, not get one.

Have you chanced your diet in any way after the procedure? Does food taste any differently than it used to? It’s a common thing after the procedure to get your taste back as it was.
