I have to do some test tomorrow called ‘vaginal wet mount’. I have symptoms such as vaginal itching, pain and discharge. Anyway, I am not sure what this test is for and how it is performed. Is anyone there who did ‘vaginal wet mount’ that would like to sharer with me? Thank you in advance.

They put a sample of the vaginal discharge is placed on a glass microscope slide and mixed with a salt solution. The prepared slide is then examined under a microscope for bacteria, yeast cells; trichomoniasis organisms …all that indicate an infection, or clue cells that indicate bacterial vaginosis.
