Hi, folks. I have heard something about ABO incompatibility. As far as I know, it has something to do with different blood types between a mother and a child. I would like to know if there any way to prevent this condition? I would really appreciate if someone could answer me this.

Hello. ABO incompatibility is not a dangerous condition. In most cases babies do not need treatment. It appears when mother is type O and baby is type A or type B. Sometimes jaundice or anemia can appear as symptoms. In this way, phototherapy is recommended. I really don’t know if there is a way to prevent ABO incompatibility with the baby. If you are so interested in this, you should consult an expert. I hope you will find out something. Good luck!

Well,
I f I am not mistaking ABO incompatibility is an immune system reaction that occurs when blood from two different and incompatible blood types are mixed together. Now there are several reasons that can caused this complication but there are also several things that can be done to prevent or treat this issue. For instant certain medication can be administered. I think that allergy medication can be used and steroids also. But this is all on doctor to decide what is best for the patient. Also medication that raise your blood pressure can be useful way of treatment for this condition. I hope this helped you in any way.

All the best,
Nelie
