8.5 PH sperm level may not be extremely high as you described it. Have you been told that this may be a reason for your inability to conceive?
Although the normal semen ph range is 7.1–8.0, when used for clinical purposes levels higher than 8.6 are considered abnormal.
Ph levels higher than 8.6 could be associated with acute prostatitis, which I am sure, you would feel if you had it.
Acute prostatitis is characterized by suddenly developing severe symptoms like burning upon urination, inability to urinate, frequent urination, abdominal pain, perianal pain, pain during ejaculations, etc
