I am in the first trimester of my pregnancy. I have been advised from my doctor to start exercising because I can benefit from them. I am little worried because I have never exercised seriously before and I am not in shape. So, I am wondering what could go wrong with exercising in pregnancy.

Exercises can be good and you should not be worry. As you are the beginner you should try swimming or stationary bicycling. I will tell you about exercise side effects but don't be scared if you work lightly and properly nothing will happen. Potential side effects are: pre-term rupture of membrane, pre-term labor, persistent second to third trimester bleeding, intrauterine growth retardation etc.
