Although nausea and vomiting could be common after gallbladder removal, any persistent vomiting should be reported to her surgeon. Usually, patients are given medications to take after surgery to control these side effects and if the drugs are not working and vomiting continues for more than two days after leaving the hospital, she should be checked for complications.
If you report the vomiting to her surgeon, she may be given and treated with metoclopramide injections.
