Hello, folks. My friends got a baby that has been recently diagnosed with one sided agenesis of the kidney. My friends haven’t told me anything more about this, so I would like to know what this condition is. I would appreciate if someone could tell me something more. Thank you for replying.

Hello, there. One sided agenesis of the kidneys is a complete absence of one kidney. It is not so common condition. It is inherited and maybe more common for kids with parents with some renal abnormality. It is good that the baby has other kidney. I hope it is functioning properly. People can live with one kidney if it functions properly. I hope everything will be all right with the baby. I hope I’ve helped a little. Bye!
