My mother is in hospital. She is expecting surgery to be done on her. While I was on the one of the latest visits to her I have overheard her doctors discussing which sedative drug to use with her. I didnt hear very well but two names were mentioned propofol and midazalam. What is the difference between propofol and midazalam sedative drugs?

It is a little expert question but I did some research and I have found out some facts about those two sedative drugs. First thing I know is that induction time of sevoflurane (inhalation type of sedative) is longer combined with midazalam then with propofol. In general, sedation scores are very similar with both, at the small and larger doses when taken alone.
