For me it's scheduling. Anybody do the scheduling at work?? I do here at the gym. I have 10-12 people and prepare the schedule month by month. It's always the same with the exception of weekends which can be different if there is either 5 Saturdays or Sundays in a given month. Over the next several months I have several employees who have asked for time off. Sometimes several days in a row, sometimes one here and there. I have never denied anyone time away for any reason even if it means I work a 16 hour day. I try to switch a shift if it's possible with someone else so everybody still gets their hours in. But sometimes it just drives me nuts to figure it out cuz most people who work here also have other jobs I work around as well.

What makes you :argh: ?

Waiting in line every freakin' morning to swipe my card at the gym. There are about four 150 yr old women who line up at the door 15 minutes before they open so they can be the first ones in. Then they never have their damn cards ready - dig around in the purse to find it and then spend another minute or two remembering how to use it.....

Because they've already been up for 2 hours and they're bored out of their minds.

and it doesn't matter if you are there first, because you'd have to hold the door open for them and it takes them 15 minutes to get through. Last week I heard "walking from the parking lot to the pool is a harder workout than class" as I was patiently holding the door. She wasn't too far from the truth, their water aerobic class consists of: "the water is too cold" and "where are we going for lunch" The water WAS a little chilly last time I went aquajogging and I just entertained myself watching the older ladies getting ready for class. :D The poor lifeguard!!! (as if it's his fault) "Are you going to turn the heat up for Thursday"x 40

Yep, each one of 'em goes thru their daily ritual of questions regarding pool water temp, shower water temp, humidity required to grow record breaking tomatoes.......

it's the same for lab work. i mean WTF, you've got plenty of time to plan for this, so why in the hell do you do this when you've "got to be somewhere" in 15 minutes and wee don't even open until 15 minutes.
just because i got here in time for me to enjoy a cup of coffee and eat my breakfast in a relaxed manor does not mean i am here for your ordereing my body around. :x :x

I used to have to do a monthly report. This involved getting input from a couple of sources, checking some time logs and reviewing training hour printouts. After that you made all these weird calculations like multiply X by.324567 (I swear !!) and came up with a figure. Then it would be typed up and given to the HR Director so we could justify our existence. Problem with this ? When the report date was approaching the entire staff of three basically stopped everything else to do the report.

My counterparts' reports in the other sections consisted of: "How many people did we process this month ?" ans: "I think XX". "OK"

Giving directions to non-english speakers. While they're on a cell phone, driving a semi through San Francisco traffic.

And I have to spell every intersection/road/street/bypass. 12 times.

It is very difficult as they can't even hear half the time. The other half of the time I get people like this:

Them: Can I get directions to your location?
Me: subtle pause hoping they'll tell me where the heck they are.
Me: still subtly pausing.....then I ask: Could you please tell me where you are?
Them: I don't know.

And then it starts to get confusing. :?

'Cause they've been awake since about 3:30 a.m. wondering what to do with their time.
OR
They've been out all night partying and this is their last stop before heading home.

Even though it isn't a task...I hate waiting in line. Period. I'm an impatient person.
