Hi, my son is 7 years old and unfortunately, there is some skin change on his head, at the back. It started spreading fast and then we took him to the doctor who said that it is some fungal disorder called tinea capitis. He said that the antibiotics should help and we would like to know what types of antibiotics are mostly used for tinea capitis.

Commonly for this condition, use of shampoos and creams with antibiotics is necessary. Beside those antibiotics, anti fungal products might be used, because tinea capitis is a fungal condition. The therapy might last for long, because the fungus is persistent but you should know that this condition is common in kids and you should not worry much, it will pass.
