I am 37 years old and I already have three kids. And it looks like the fourth is on the way. Anyway, my middle one has been having problems with atrial septal defect on the birth. Well, as far as the diagnostic procedures are concerned, it is not that difficult to see if there is anything wrong with the unborn baby. The ultrasound will be the first to show if there is something wrong with the baby’s heart. At the birth, baby looks bluish and has problem with feeding and breathing. If the defect is only partial, a murmur might be heard coming from the heart.
