Hello, Lilmikey12.
Coughing up blood, also known as hemoptysis, is a serious symptom that should not be ignored. It is important to see a doctor as soon as possible to determine the underlying cause and get appropriate treatment.
There are many potential causes of coughing up blood, including respiratory infections, lung cancer, tuberculosis, pneumonia, bronchitis, pulmonary embolism, and bronchiectasis. It is also possible that the blood is coming from the upper respiratory tract or gastrointestinal tract, rather than the lungs.
To diagnose the underlying cause of your symptoms, your doctor may perform a physical exam, chest X-ray, CT scan, or other imaging tests. They may also order blood tests or a bronchoscopy, which involves inserting a small tube with a camera into your airways to look for signs of inflammation, infection, or other abnormalities.
The appropriate treatment will depend on the underlying cause of your symptoms. For example, if the cause is a respiratory infection, you may be prescribed antibiotics. If the cause is lung cancer, you may need surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or a combination of these treatments. It is important to follow your doctor's recommendations and attend any follow-up appointments or tests.
In the meantime, it is important to avoid smoking or exposure to secondhand smoke, as this can exacerbate your symptoms and increase your risk of lung cancer and other respiratory problems. You should also avoid any activities that may irritate your lungs, such as exercising in cold or polluted air.
I wish you well. Keep us posted about your condition.

As I already said, there are many potential causes of coughing up blood, including infections, lung diseases (such as pneumonia or bronchitis), pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lungs), and lung cancer. It's also possible that the cause of your coughing up blood is related to your previous smoking history.
Because of so many possible causes, I cannot point one out.
It's important to note that seeking medical attention promptly can be lifesaving, so I strongly urge you to prioritize your health and seek medical attention as soon as possible. While it's understandable to want to avoid going to the hospital, in some cases, hospitalization may be necessary for effective treatment.
Your healthcare provider may order tests such as a chest X-ray or CT scan to help determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.
