i went to the drs last fri about trying for a baby for 3 years while i was there she asked me to have a smear what i don't understand is why did she also do an internal and then tell me to do a pregnancy test?had 1 period this year in feb and 5 last year from may to oct,was on depo injection for 8 years been of it for 3

Dr. did an internal to check for anything abnormal, that she could actually feel. Polyps, lumps, bumps, swelling and/or anything painful to you during the exam. She did a smear to look for any kind of abdormal cells. She told you to take a pregnancy test, or did she administer the test herself?
If she thought a pregnancy test was called for, she may have detected something in the internal that may have indicated pregnancy. They can feel a change in the cervix which would suggest it.
