I thought this happened to everyone until my husband walked in to the bathroom today and asked why I was crying. When I explained, he laughed so hard. So I decided to look it up. Glad I am not alone.

I was diagnosis with dry eye syndrome but since I was a lil girl my eye tear up heavy when I poop and still does. So how can I have an issue with my eyes not producing enough tears to keep them moist, ever time I poop so matter the consistency of it my eyes get teary. I've been trying to figure out why for over 10 yrs now. I'm 35 and still get teary eyed while using the bathroom.

So here I am, a 35 year old man, taking a poo. It's 15 after midnight. As my eyes well up like normal, I think to myself, is this normal? Does anyone else do this? No pain, no struggle.....just tears. The internet is a weird place. I may be on the dark side of it right now, but at least I'm not alone.

Same problem with burning and tearing eyes. It also happens when I eat spicy foods, especially when I lean over the food while eating.
I wonder if this is caused by gasses from my poo and gasses off the foods.

Haha this actually has happened to me since birth. My mom told me that when i was a baby if i would start crying she knew when to change my diaper. This stills happens to me on this day and i actually think it might be hereditary since my dad has it too!

Well it's completely normal to tear up while eating spicy food. Spicy food is a irritator than can trigger tears or can cause the sinuses to get clogged
