I have the exact same symptoms as you! It happens to me only in the evening. Also, my lips turn completely white. I'm 23 years old. I'm seeing a family doctor (who thinks it's anxiety) and a cardiologist (I'm in the middle of a 30-day heart monitoring session). Did you ever find out if something was wrong? I'll post back if I get an answer from any of my doctors.

Everyone here, you guys are young, and you need to chill dude, im 17 and i have the same problems, but since my dad is a doctor himself, and a very good one at that, i haven't gone to the hospital or anything to get checked out, because he and i both know the problem for it, its mostly in your head dude, seroiusly.....i can honestly change my heart beat by my mood.....think of this..."Thoughts control heartbeat" yes my quote =) once you realize your heartbeat is fast, you start getting anxious, and you start worrying, getting scared...frightened of what might happen, keep thinking, why is my heart beating so fast? this isn't normal!! and the worrying just keeps going on and on, then you start feeling weird, and different, and you think uh oh....why am i feeling like this?? is it because of my heart?? then the worrying gets worse, and it keeps going on and on....just relax, take life at ease...and chill, the next time your heart starts beating fast, why don't you lay down in your bed, completely relaxed, just imagine your self sinking into the bed, while breathing slow deep breathes through your nose, and out your mouth, slowly....keep doing it over and over, while imagining your self in a state of complete tranquility

it is the anxiety attacks, stop drinking coffee and caffeine, exercise and eat healthy, no red meat, stop stress, go to bed early and rest more. don't drive cars fast, be gentle, relax, chillax, dont eat heavy stuff, Stop Drinking any kind of Soda.
basically you have to look at life different way, and you and I can bring all the excuses, but buttom line is, we do it to ourself.
just do what I advise you, and you will start to feel better.

am 19 years old,and i got the same problem.especially when i wake up to pee,i feel my heart beats pretty heavy, like i can feel it throbbing outta my chest.and because of that, sometimes i even have sleeping problems.everytime it happens,i try my best to calm down,i dont wanna get nervous but seriously it is kinda creepy.i went to hospitals for so many times, but all the doctors told me that m fine, and my heart is fine,it is actually a good thing but i dont believe if theres nothing wrong with me i still feel crappy.one day i went into a coma,i went to the hospital again and they gave me some tranquilizers, another day,my heart had the same problem again, heart beated really fast and heavy, felt dizzy and i really thought i might die,and i got freaked out,so i took the pill, and it almost killed me,didnt help at all,i felt even worse,so i cant even take tranquilizers now.i am thin and i dont do drugs, but i know i am lazy and sometimes dont eat healthy, but i dont think its the main reason.i dont know what to do,and it really annoys me,someone can help?

Something is causing all of us to have these episodes and especially after eating which is common. There are so many things it could potentially be. I think it may be all the new wireless technology going through the air because our hearts are electrical pumps I think these wireless internet, and satellite signals in the air could be interfering with our hearts. Also I think one huge culprit could be sugar. Because of all the bad publicity that sugar substitutes get it leads many to believe that regular white refined table sugar is healthy. However if you read it is not healthy at all either and it is just as bad as sugar substitutes and is also man made. It could also be the flavor enhancer in everything we eat monosodium glutimate especially if you eat out alot that is all some of us new generationers do is eat out, I am one of those. This MSG is in more eat out foods then you can imagine even the healthy ones because restaurants want you and I to come back so they use flavor enhancing MSG. I believe one of these is a major reason all our hearts are acting up only I am not sure which one is the true culprit. I also believe that once you have one of these heart episodes it is scary as all get out and thus even though you may not think you are not having a panic attack you actually do because the first time your heart does anything abnormal, like stuff it has been doing for years you now get scared to death it is happening again and you force it to do just that. Also after one of these episodes anything, illness, a hiccup, heart burn will scare you in to thinking it is your heart so you react to that and follows your heart. At any rate I pray for you all because I deal with this deadly scary ordeal too for no reason at all my heart is just beating like mad and I can see my whole stomach moving with each beat, it is usually after I eat or if I lay down or move suddenly. It also happens just when I am sitting down for no reason at all I all the sudden get this scary feeling that my heart is not working right and then I look down and by this point the beat is on and I am terrified to the point I wonder should I just go ahead and call 911...then i try to forget about it and calm myself down and it goes away. But it keeps coming back and I wish I could get rid of it because it is effecting my lifestyle and health.

I find all of these posts about high heart rates to be interesting, because not long ago I was feeling badly(weak and tired, couldn't get enough sleep) and noticed that my blood pressure was rather high (approx. 135 sistolic over about 85 distolic).I bought a blood pressure gauge, sat down and thought about my lifestyle, health habits, etc.,and useing my newly purchased monitor set about discovering the problem.I might add that I walk three miles almost every day. To make a long story short,I discovered that through eating out, consuming processed foods (full of sodium)and all that, that I was taking in WAY more than the 2400 millagrams recommended by the feds.I immediately took all sodium possible out of my diet, and over a period of about one week my B.P. dropped to an average of about 115 over 70. Well, this made me as happy as a clam, however,my heartrate got pretty high and I thought it would get better after my body had become accustomed to a lower blood pressure, but it did not.So finally it dawned on me that playing doctor is fine, but getting carried away is not,and I gradually began taking in more salt. When I reached approx. 1200 millagrams daily, presto, heart rate went down and blood pressure still at a healty low number. Some folks say throwing away the old salt shaker is a good thing to do,but I disagree.A better plan I think is to keep the shaker ( sea salt is maybe better because it has trace minerals in it) and learn to cook. That way YOU control the sodium in your diet to a much finer degree. I hope this will be of benifit to people with high heart rates AND people with high blood pressure.Although a good doctor is priceless when you are ill, they are much to busy and harried to be of much assistance in a problem like this, unless you have exhausted every avenue by accepting responsibility for you own health yourself.Masking issues like this with drugs is unhealthy and dangerous, try to help yourself first. Some of you folks sound very young, and I am willing to bet that your problems are due to what you are PUTTING INTO youre body.Think about it,and good luck.OB.

Hey everyone, I am a 34 yo male and I have gone through most of the same things you all have gone through for a few years.
I have taken three ambulance rides to the hospital (and many walk-ins to the ER as well) because of this. ALL of the doctors told me it was "Panic, and anxiety," but i didnt believe them. So, I went and had my whole body examined, and the results were all the same - NOTHING. Finally, I went to a relaxation specialist, and I started seeing the results. My heart rate started slowing down, the panic feeling started to disappear, and i was finaly able to talk myself through my discomfort. I realized that I was unconsciously creating my heart rate to elevate by dwelling on the past occurances, and they just became a habit.

Now I use a simple technique that helps me through the problem:

1. I remind myself how many times in the past this has happened, and that I am still alive, so obviously it is not going to kill me (although it feels like it at the time).

2. I talk to myself (outloud if nobody is around lol) and try to calm myself down.

3. I take nice deap breathes, and exhale slowly while counting to 8.

4. Lastly, I try to think about or get involved in anything that will take my mind off of my heart rate. Even if you are laying down for bed, get up and go do something for 10 minutes to help get you out of your own head.

I hope this helps someone!

Merry Christmas!

OK LOOK.......i am 20 years old and I'm also experiencing this hard beating. This occurs randomly and i can be laying down or playing basketball i still get it randomly. Anyways, i also have a problem when taking DEEP breaths, it hurts my heart as if its getting squeezed. I use to be very active from age 7-18....then i stopped playing sports and i hardly workout. Now im in college and have a office desk job where i sit on my ass all day. I dont do NO drugs but just a little bit of hookah (once a week). I sleep very bad like only 5-6 hours a day. My mother has high blood pressure and my dad has diabitees.

I have no health insurance to go see a doctor and Im very WORRIED about my health/heart :-(

Any professional or first hand experience is greatly appreciated.
