Hi,
Do you live/work in an area that has a lot of traffic? Eg a busy main road?
Fumes from cars/vans etc are suspected to cause heart problems

See that's the same thing with me iv learned to calm myself down and tell myself thangs will be ok I tried pot when I was about 18 and that's what made me have a chemical imbalance and made me have panic disorders so I went to a phycaligs and she put me on meds that keeps them under control for the most part...

Wondering if anyone can help me my heart will start beating so hard out of nowhere for no reason. I'm 24 I do smoke and drink but it doesn't happen all the time. This time (4-8-12) I checked my bpm and I was up to 191 . Then it when to 131 126 and when my heart finally slowed down I was back to normal at 95 bpm. I don't know why it happens nor can I control it when it does I just try taking g deep slow breaths. Only difference was this time after the episode was over my left arm felt really weak and still feels that way about 30 mins later? Why does this happen?

I had the same problem with fast hearbeats after eating and even resting, I am not 56 and since discovered MSG and other food additives mostly cause the problems....Hope this helps, my resting rate is between 60-90 now, was up to 140 or higher....Jim

I wanted to add that I've gotten better & don't have the anxiety/heart problems as I did before!  God really did heal me b/c one day it was there & the next, it wasn't!  And the differing factor was prayer.  But what I also realized just recently is I can trace the problems back to a car accident I had in Dallas.  The other driver ran a green light & hit me.  I'd already had a similar accident a few months prior, but this time my car was totalled.  I wasn't hurt physically at all (or so I thought), so I dismissed it.  But ever since, whenever I would drive, I felt like my heart would stop if anyone did something dangerous on the road near me.  I'd get attacks sometimes after driving & sometimes not & so I didn't connect it w/ that accident.  But now I realized it was problem some form of post traumatic stress disorder!  So I want to suggest: could your experiences be linked to something traumatic, like a car accident?  It might help to give you some peace of mind if you realized, "Oh I'm not crazy!  This is probably due to that event!"

I have had techycardi issue sine I was very young. Trust my I feel you pain. With me and my mother as well who has the same issues EKG dont pick it up because you have to be having an episode during the test. Ask you doctor to send you home with a halter monitor. I hope since this post is over a year old your doctor has done this by now. But for the sake of other who may be having this im going to reply. Sadly you almost have to be able to tell the doctor whats wrong with you for them to know. Why we pay them so much is past me.

I am 16 and I have been having the same problem for a while. The other difference is that my resting heart beat is 120 all the time. I am not over weight and I work out all the time. This problem has actually started to prevent me from working out since my trainer will not train me because when I get up and just walk my heart rate shoots up to 200 and then when I run it can reach up to 280 and it freaks my trainer out. We can see my heart beating through my chest and I have been to doctors who just brush it off and some of my doctors have made me wear monitors the problem is that it is not irregular it is always this fast but the doctor I am going to right now is worried about it. He said that it is possible that it is going to wear my heart out and my heart will give out. But he still does not know what it is or why does anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem. I have random, sudden increases in my heart rate as well for no apparent reason. My average heart rate is 99/min. I'm 24 and of average weight. I've had this for a few years now. Been in and out of the hospital with it. The last time I went to the cardiologist, they asked me to wear a monitor for 24 hours. My results came back that my heart rate goes up to 180 every hour for no reason at all. It even happens when I'm asleep.
Sometimes, it feels as if my heart is rolling around inside of my chest, and I am unsure why. The doctors were not very helpful in my case. They couldn't tell me why my heart is doing what it's doing, so I don't have much hope that I'll get better. I'm not even sure what sets it off. I was told to be very careful when exercising, but that's about the extent of their treatment for me.

I started having that problem 2 years ago, I also went to my cardiologist and I had all the tests done. He told me something is wrong but he's not sure what. I guess it's not too common. But they always tell me to exercise.
I think it's stress I've ben through, that could be the main reason. I lived through war when I was 6 yrs. old, I'm 25 now. Even now I get scared when something explodes or has any bomb or gun sound.. I hate it, I've been through many other things, And I believe our heart does get worn out, especially in cases like mine. So I decided to live with this discomfort, it doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes when I;m on the computer or watchin TV, it really bothers me, but there's nothing I can do.

CAUSE:

FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER, OVER SIMULATION AND/OR IRRITATION OF THE VEGUS NERVE. CAN BE FROM HEARTBURN AND OTHER STOMACH ACID RELATED PROBLEMS PLUS CAFFEINE, POOR SLEEP, POOR DIET, ETC.

I think cutting back on carbs, intelligently, can help. Plus a cpap if you snore. Get a check up for other hidden things like low level infection (some ppl let a broken tooth go too long, for example)
