Hi. I'm relativly new to running. I usually run about a mile or half a mile when I do go out and run. I have a pretty good pace. I run an 8 minute mile. Nothing to really brag about but not too bad either.
I joined this forum to get some advice from people who've been at this for awhile now. Pretty much I'm just looking for some tips. Usually after a mile I'm huffing and puffing. My legs still feel like they could go on for a lot longer though.
Should I just slow down my pace and see if I get better distance that way? Any advice or tips for how to get past that point?
Also whenever I run really hard I get a small pain in my leg. It doesn't hurt when I'm actually running but after it's a little tender. Though it only hurts when I life my leg straight up. It's just the muscle along the very front of the thigh.
Thanks in advance for any tips and advice you have.

Hi Graves,
:wavey: Try slowing down a bit. Your cardio will catch up soon enough! When you start running, there is no such thing as too slow as long as you're out there trying. (and I'd kill to run an 8 min. mile) That may help with your thigh pain too. Running is a lot of stress on your body, especially when you start.
Good luck!
