Hi, I have a final interview with Myer for a cosmetic consultant job and there will be a lot of selling and reaching sales targets involved.
Does anyone think it would be bad for my anxiety? Most often I can keep it under control and most often it's myself that works it up by putting too much pressure on myself. Do you think I could cope in a retail sales job? Does anyone else work in sales and suffer from anxiety?

I also suffer from depression, but I am on meds for both.

Hi, I suffer from anxiety and began working in a tough retail job in August. I have large daily sales quotas to meet along with credit card applications. Also have to deal with very agressive sales associates. It is probably the most stressful job I've ever had and it has not been good for my anxiety, as I also, put a tremendous amount of pressure on myself to succeed. Now I've accepted a promotion to Cosmetic counter manager at Estee Lauder, I start tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck 8-|

I stress out quickly and have the self control of a nat.
I could never get a job where i would have to relate to customers on a daily basis. I do part time work at our local High School and there are days where i want to to slap the c**p out of those kids. If you can keep yourself in check, you shouldn't have a problem. I see these poor check out girls at the market, and they have to swallow a lot from the customers, or a waitress who catches hell because the customers meat is over done. If i was that guys waitress, he'd be wearing his plate of food for a hat. That's just me tho. :-S Remember, the customer is always right, no matter what.
