I am on the tail end of my 2nd pack of Yaz. And I have not gotten my period yet. I used to take loestrin which made me bleed all month long. Now I have Yaz and the opposite happened. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and they are both negative. I get the cramps and the mood swings during the time I'm suppose to have my period. But so far, I have not gotten it. Do shorter lighter periods mean no period?

I just ended my third pack of YAZ and I started my fourth and still no period yet!

However, in the last months, after I started YAZ, I never got my period during the white placebo pills, I always started after I took the first pill on my new pack.

Isn't that weird?

I've been on yaz for about 8 months and I haven't had a period either. I talked to my doctor and he doesn't know why I haven't had one which is very confusing to me. I sortof like it that way I'm just praying that it doesn't cause any side effects.

I had been on Yazmin for 3 years. Worked great period like clock work then my gyno switched me to Yaz. I absolutely hate it!!!! Ive been moody, depressed, cry for no reason, lethargic, tired, get constant headaches, spotty periods and cramping(when I lay on my side it feels as though I have a brick in my stomach, and have gained about 8 lbs.. I have been taking Yaz for three months and just switched back to Yazmin. This month(on my third pill). For the 1st two months I have my period twice each month. My period this last month on Yaz was completely different as I was about 4 days late starting my period then it came in the middle of the day when I wiped then went away. Did this for two days then just had very light bleeding, kind of watery light red. Normally I would wear a tampon but this month all I needed was a pad. This is soooo frustrating. I wanted to know what was going on because in this last few days on Yaz my headaches and moodiness have been worse and cramps as well were more than normal. I went to my doctor and they didnt even listen to me and offered no help. Im calling my gyno to see if someone can help. Anyone else experience this?

I am 19 years old and just started taking Yaz last October, to try and help with ovarian cysts and the pain associated with them. I am about to start my 8th pack tomorrow. Last month I bled a week or two before my period, straight through to my period. This past week I have had no sign of my period at all, except for some cramps and nausea. I'm nervous because I am the type of person that gets their period for 7 days on the pill, rather than the usual 3-4. Now I have nothing. I did have pain though where my right ovary is again (I think it might be another cyst perhaps) and was wondering if this could have hindered getting my period. I'm freaking out nervous because I am so young and missing your period is never a good sign. I want to make sure that it's not anything too serious. If anyone has any advice or a similar situation, please share, thanks.

I suffered from severe pms (some assume that i have pmdd but i cannot say since it hasnt been tested but its suspected. the dr gave me yaz and said it helps with pmdd. well i take it for 2 weeks. and just from those 2 weeks it felt like i have pms/pmdd during the whole time i was taking it! it did the oppisite what it was to do. i wanted to finish it out and stick with it but my husband didnt allow it since it was ruining my relationship he had to throw them all away (and im so greatful he did). i gained weight, breast tenderness, headaches, severe sleeping spells, had severe mood swings, had much higher appitite it was hell. i was a complete utter b***h! i got so depressed i wanted to kill myself! and if this is how it was when i wasnt on/ around my period i would have hated to see when that time came! to top it off if the weight gain wasnt enough my period came early! which i expected since i did stop the birthcontrol pills. but then the month after it was about a week eartly again! i always counted my days of my period and i was only maybe a day or so off if that. but a week? and the only thing that changed was yaz and to make it even worse! (which might or might not have anything to do with taz) my breasts were tender and i found a lump! im not sure if its because of yaz but since im STILL haveing problems just from the 2 weeks of taking the pills and it still effecting me 2 MONTHS later? it just might. if it was this bad at first and getting worse who know what would have came up.

I have missed a few pills, but caught back up on them and I am also having dull cramping and other menstrual symptoms like acne, but no period. Its freaking me out a bit. I knew the period cycle was supposed to be shorter but it didn't even really come this month. I had a small showing of my period, but it was only one day for about an hour. I am concerned.

This is weird. I also just finished my third pack (took the last placebo last night) and still no period. It's crazy how it's affecting us all in such a similar way. I had some cramps a couple of nights ago...but that's it. It's making me paranoid!!

I've been on Yaz for about a year or a year and a half. At first it freaked me out with the missing periods, but they are normal now. It takes a little while for your body to adjust to Yaz. But in the end I'm still not prego. So don't worry, they've worked fine for me. Sometimes even now I won't start my period until the last placebo pill and I will start the next day and it will in the next day. I don't even worry no more. The doctor told me it would be normal when he first put me on it. Good luck everyone!

I have taken several types of pills over the past 2 years, and am usually very consistent with when my period starts and stops. Since starting the Yaz, my emotions are fine, but my periods are wonky. They only lasted a day or 2 over the first 3 months, twice not starting until Saturday, when I had to start a new pack. This month, my 4th month, I did not have my period and have experienced some cramping. I hope, after hearing others' problems, that mine is similar. I really don't need to be pregnant right now. :'(

I am so glad that I found these responses. I am on my 6 or 7th pack and in the first 3 months I was spotting continuously and had my last period on 8/16. I haven't taken a pregnancy test but there isn't much need for one. I'm just glad that others are having these issues so I don't feel like I'm losing my mind. Trust me, I don't mind not having my period in the least bit, I just wish there were answers or warnings that this might happen to cut down on the stress that comes when the period doesn't come.
