Home remedies usually cover every disease that is common among people. One such disease is endometriosis. Home remedies for endometriosis and infertility can be beneficial in many cases.

Endometriosis and infertility are concerning conditions that affect a large percentage of women. According to research, thirty to fifty percent of women with endometriosis suffer from infertility. It is not wrong to say that endometriosis is one of the biggest causes of infertility. Also, 25 to fifty percent of infertile women have endometriosis. It is a fairly common gynecological disorder. [1]

What Is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a disorder where the innermost lining of the uterus (womb) grows outside the womb. This is called ectopic uterine tissue. As the innermost lining of the uterus is called the endometrium, this disorder is given the name of endometriosis. [2]

This ectopic growth can occur in various sites like the fallopian tubes (the tubes that transport eggs from ovaries to the womb), liver, gastrointestinal tract, and chest. The most common sites are in the gut and include the appendix, large intestine, and a part of small intestine. [3]

What leads to endometriosis is not clear yet. There are various theories that explain the mechanism. However, agreement on any one of these has not happened yet and research is still continuing. One theory says that endometriosis occurs due to retrograde flow of menstrual blood that contains cells from the uterine lining. These cells get implanted and start growing. [4]

How Does Endometriosis Lead To Infertility?

There are various mechanisms by which endometriosis hinders pregnancy and leads to infertility. If endometriotic tissue grows into the fallopian tube, it leads to adhesion formation and blockage of the tube. This interferes with transport of egg and hence causes infertility.

Endometriotic tissue also leads to inflammation. These inflammatory agents interfere with the implantation of the embryo. If the endometriotic tissue has affected the ovaries, ovulation may not occur. Also, there are anti-endometrial antibodies that interfere with implantation and are associated with a high risk of miscarriage. [2]

Can Endometriosis-Related Infertility Be Treated With Home Remedies?

There are many home remedies for endometriosis and infertility that can benefit many patients with their infertility issues. You can always try home remedies along with your treatment from a certified specialist. However, it is not wise to rely only on such remedies, especially if your condition doesn’t get any better.

Go For Organic Food

Organic and natural food products are beneficial for your general health. A balanced diet is necessary for a healthy lifestyle.

It is a well-known fact that pesticides and other chemicals with which food is treated for various purposes can stay in food products. Organochlorines are one of such pesticides that can be found in food in a noticeable amount. Intake of such chemicals over can lead to endometriosis and infertility over time. [5]

So if you want to improve your fertility, go for an organic diet. Include vegetables and fruits in your diet and growing some vegetables organically at home is a great idea.

Limit Intake Of Animal Products

In the present day, farm animals are given hormones and other drugs that encourage their growth and increase the production of milk and other products. These hormones are not excreted from their bodies completely and become a part of the meat and other animal products. They affect your health negatively. [6]

So if you want to improve your medical condition and boost your fertility, limit your intake of animal products or make sure what you eat is from organic sources only.

Exercise Can Help

A sedentary lifestyle is a root cause of various diseases. Where adopting a physically active lifestyle saves you from various diseases, it also improves fertility. [7]

So if you are struggling with how to get pregnant with endometriosis, adopt an exercise routine. It is good to exercise at least thirty minutes a day. You will notice a difference.

Increased Vegetable Protein Intake Can help

Protein is one of the three nutrients that are required in large amounts by your body, other two being carbohydrates and lipids. This is why proteins should be an integral part of your diet. However, watch which proteins you take.

It is proven by research that replacing animal protein sources with vegetable protein sources improves fertility. [8]

Stop Using Plastic Utensils And Other Products

Environmental toxins have a great impact on your health. One of such toxin is plastic. It is widely used in your day to day life. From the bottle you drink water from to the bench you sit on, everything is made of plastic.

Plastics have many additives in them which have toxic effects on your health. They can also lead to infertility. So it is a wise health decision to avoid plastic products. [9] It is not only good for you but also for a healthy environment.
