- Excessive caffeine consumption
- Benign uterine fibroids
- Ovulation disorders
- Elevated prolactin (hyperprolactinemia)
- Medications
- Thyroid problems
- Pelvic adhesions
- Fallopian tube damage or blockage
- Endometriosis
- Other medical conditions such as Cushing's disease, sickle cell disease, HIV, kidney disease, diabetes
