Number 3: Pretest Gynecology and Obstetrics
This is the perfect review tool for any medical student, resident, or clinician. You will be bombarded with a variety of USMLE-style questions and you will get a detailed description of each answer to help retain concepts faster. You will cover 14 specific core topics and maneuver through 25+ high-yield questions in each category. The most amazing thing about this app is that it is one of many subcategories the “Pretest” line produces so you will be able to use the same platform for multiple topics in order maximize your time. I remember how frustrating it was not being able to have a consistently good series to study from as we moved from subject to subject during Med School. Kaplan would be good for some subjects but seriously lacking in others. Same problem with “Mastering the Boards.” With this, you will not need to look much further to have an app that is consistently satisfactory. Rated as 3.7 stars out of 5, this rating is far lower than what it deserved.

This was one of my favorite apps to use because of how easy-to-use the interface is. I was able to pause tests if I had to and pick right back up where I left off once I had more time. The questions are written very similarly to what you can expect on test day and they are high-yield topics with quality descriptions of the right and wrong answers so you are learning throughout the whole process.
Number 4: Hopkins Gyn-Ob
This is the perfect app to use if you are reluctant to log in to UptoDate and navigate through the 600 hits that come up for pre-eclampsia. This app provides a comprehensive and concise description of the most common diagnoses and treatments for the most common presentations in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Not only does this app give you a great run-down on management but you will also learn about the most current protocol guidelines for working up each case. It also is a useful tool to remind you of some of the most common dosages for medications and indications to choose one therapy over another. It was designed by the John Hopkins University and usually updates annually for the most current guidelines. Coming in at 4.1 stars out of 5, this app is a good resource to quickly check your knowledge.

Number 5: Postpartum Hemorrhage Protocol
An obstetrician’s worse nightmare and not the time to run to the break-room to flip through the pages of the latest edition of The Handbook for Gynecology and Obstetrics to find out what to do next. This app is a life-saver literally and gives you a complete run-down of the latest postpartum hemorrhage protocol endorsed by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It will save you valuable time and give you a calming confidence in a time when chaos is unavoidable. Rated as a 4.7 out of 5 stars on Android, after downloading it, you will soon see why this is so well received by users.
