My brother's LPR lasted 6 hrs. He had a very aggressive form of cancer. They said it went well and he would be released the next day. He was having intense pain in his abdomen, and the leakage pump (not the catheter bag), had to be emptied every 45 minutes to an hour. Four Urologists came to see him, every doctor that worked in the department with his Urologist. They took him in for a CT scan because they said he had a stomach infection. What they found instead was his gallbladder was distended, the size of a soda can. They did not say they saw any stones or blockage. They immediately inserted a needle and drained his gallbladder, bringing his pain from a 9/10 to 7/8. The relief only lasted 8 - 10 hours.

He was told that they wanted to bring him in about 4 months to remove his gallbladder. The next morning, the doctor came in and said tomorrow they want to do the gallbladder surgery. Starting laparoscopic and then opening him up only if necessary.

He ran a low-grade fever for a day but doesn't have a fever now. Just very ill and in a lot of pain that never leaves. The pain shots alleviate the pain somewhat, but it never leaves.

We have more unanswered questions than ever and the doctor is being elusive to family members. My brother has never had a gallbladder problem. No pain, burping, nausea etc.

Your input, PLEASE.

Thank you,
Margie
