Hi, I suffer from prostate cancer. I should choose between laparoscopic and radical prostatectomy. Which method is more efficient in dealing with prostate cancer?

Hi, from my point of view radical prostatectomy is more secure, as all of cancer tissue is definitely removed. It requires general or regional anesthesia, and may include also the pelvic lymph nodes to be sampled for a biopsy. Surrounding tissues may be eliminated as well, in order to avoid appearance of any new cancer. After this surgery, it would take you 2-3 weeks to recover. The catheter stays to suck in all pus and dressings are kept on the wounds until they don’t completely dry up. Pay attention to your general health and try to avoid conditions for developing another cancer in some other organ in the body.
