i have a lump or knot on my right side about the size of 3-5 inches in diameter. the pain runs from my sturem all the way around to my right side. the pain is severe,sharp and stabing and it hurts 24 hours a day and never gives away. it hurts to breath move arm,lay down adjust and cough. i went to the e.r and they never took a x-ray. i have no insurance so i think that was the reason. please help.

It sounds like you may have an emergency situation. If the lump or knot is on the right side of your abdomen and it is soft to the touch, you may have a hernia. Lay down horizontally and try to push the lump back into the abdominal cavity. If that should fail, call 911 and tell them you may have a strangulated intestine from a hernia, and have the emergency vehicle take you to the ER. Federal law requires all hospital ER to admit and treat you regardless of your ability to pay. Get the media's attention if the hospital ER does not comply.
