I found this thread after searching for what seems to be the same condition that the OP has/had. In my case, the issue started with an increase in weight as well as stress--both now being the highest point of my life. My plan is to address these 2 areas and see if anything changes. For the record, I do no feel anything moving, just a 'charlie horse' sensation as well as the inability to breathe.

I've noticed that gender seems to play a part as well. I'm curious how many men have this issue as I've read a lot of posts by women.

I can't tie my shoes, Shave my legs, bend over for anything without the immediate tightening, breath taking Charlie horse just under my rib cage. I need to stand, stretch to the sky and take slow breaths. No one has answers? There are so many of us! This is crazy.

It seems to me that it is either a serotonin issue (depression) or stress. I have had this for several years, and in the past year it has gotten much much worse, the intensity of the pain and the occurrences both coincide with extreme exhaustion and stress. There are a ton of people online here who have the same symptoms. I have asked two doctors and they don't even consider it as an issue. Recently I worked with some ayurvedic healers who prescribed fresh ginger, minced, with lime juice, abut a teaspoon before each meal, and a spoon of ghee(clarified butter with each meal. The ginger mix settled my stomach like never before, and the ghee is supposed to calm the digestive system. I have also quit eating meat, soda, ice and most sugars, breads and dairy. It has helped me feel better. Good luck with your search for a solution.

I have been doing the same thing. Everytime I bend over to tie my shoes, go from lying to sitting, and now it’s when I strain to have a vowel movement. It’s all the same feeling like my right side of the abdomen goes into a spasm and have to stand up quickly and message the area to get it to go away. Well, when it started to involve my bowel movements which is very scary by the way because I’m panicky when I feel the urge to defacate because I know what kind of pain I will have and the soreness it leaves me with afterwards. So I decided to reasearch a little. I found out there was a muscle in your abdomen originating from the sides of the spine that’s called a Psoas muscle(pronounced So-ax). This muscle can get inflamed from an old injury and can cause muscle spasms when u bend over, go from a lying to sitting position or strain on the abdomen. There are exercise that stretch this muscle out and also a chiropractor can message the area to help release the tension. They say it’s pretty painful when the do it but it helps tremendously. So I will begin the exercises today and make me N appt. for a chiropractor. I hope this helps so many people out there that seems to have the same problem I do but no explaination as to why’s

I also am experiencing this and mine showed up after my second c-section.

I am wondering if my organs are not in proper place or if it has something to do with this doctor not putting me in a corset type contraption like the doctor did when I had my first c-section.

The area that you are describing is where your liver and Gaul bladder are located. I may have a lead for you guys. a friend of mine has been experiencing the same cramping type pain for years with exhaustion and fluid retention in legs, and hands she's been going too Drs for years and had a lot of tests done with no results until recently. The Drs done bloodwork, tested her heart ,kidneys, even ultrasounds and a dye test of her vascular system it wasn't until she donated blood and received a letter in the mail that she finally got answers. She found out all of her symptoms were from liver being damaged. Now please understand I'm only telling this story because if my friend knew what was causing her pain and symptoms she could have gotten treatment sooner. Your symptoms could be from something unrelated or different. I'm not trying to say that anyone on this site has the same thing, so please do not get upset with me for saying this, I'm only trying to help others in a similar situation, but she tested positive for HVC ( hepatitis c ) which went untreated for so long it caused her liver to disease. I hope this helps some of you. Your immune system could cause Immunopathic damage which can cause the same symptoms as HVC also.
