I also experience this. If i bend over especially to manicure my feet, etc. It feels like I have a hard lump under my right breast and it hurts so bad until I can straighten myself out and it takes a minute to go away. I do have 2 children, endometriosis, a periumbilical hernia, a 2.5cm cyst on my liver...not sure if any of that is related or not. I did find something called ACNES that sounds like it could be it?!

ACNES- Abdominal Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment Syndrome

I have the exact same thing. I got hernia mesh implants 20 years ago and ever since that operation my abdominal muscles contract in violent spasms when I bring my knee towards my chest (like when trying my shoes from a seated position or on the floor). Every doctor tells me it’s not related to the hernia operation. BUT IT IS!! Have you gotten any helpful answers from doctors?

Hi has anyone got any updates on this. My pain is also Left side below the ribs (left of the epigastric region, so it’s not the chest) and this all started over a month ago on the 21st October after bending down to pick up my shower gel and suddenly I got a breathtaking painful tight / pinching cramp (knot like) in the left side of said epigastric area. I had to immediately stand up straight to release the painful cramp / knot. It was a slow release and left the area sore and quite tender to touch when pressed. Then it happened about 10 days later when I again when to pick up a small box off the floor. Since then I have been experiencing more milder (less painful) cramps even whilst sitting at the table, not as painful, but the area is still sore and I feel it moves about within a small window of area (like within a 3 to 4 inch range). It’s really causing me anxiety and stress and lots of worry. My initials for my name is RP for future reference. Please people update and let’s get to the bottom of this! I will be sure to keep checking back and update. Many thanks, RP

Yes I have read the entire thread and no updates from original poster. He / She mentioned a Cyst was found but no further updates. At this point we don’t even know of the Cyst was the cause, because it could have just been picked up on the scans but not necessarily connected to the cramps. We just don’t know for sure. I think people should update and use initials so we can track who is who. Thank you, RP

Anybody got an answer for what’s going on. I know it’s an old post. But this is the only place where I feel I see people having the exact issues I am.

I have a $7000 deductible. No way am I going to the doctor. I have had GERD symptoms. Today I was buckling a snowshoe, bent over to the right and it felt like something moved out drom under my ribs on the right.. It hurt a little, but then slowly improved as I relaxed. I went snowshoing and was fine. It felt like something got caught under my ribs and popped out.

I've had this pain on and off for years. When I bend over my top right ab cramps up like a Charlie horse I have to stretch it out for the pain to go away. There are a few causes to this cramping pain. Number 1 is visceral fat pushes your abdominal wall out causing diastasis recti which is when your abs start to separate and that causes ab cramps. Number 2 is mineral and vitamin deficiently especially potassium and magnesium.

11 years later still no firm diagnosis. But today I found this info which sounds promising so I thought I'd pass it on to you. Google intercostal neuralgia.
