Hi guys, this is my story. I've been having this condition for 8 years now. Pain in right testicle, right buttock and somethimes a weird feeling between the right hip and navel.
I suspect I got it from training hard with a severe cold during military service. Noticed it when I came home during a leave so I don't know exactly what triggered it. I do know that I'm sensitive to eating a lot of carbs and during military service I ate a lot of carbs and had a very bloated stomach while training. Maybe internal pressure from the bloating triggered the injury, I don't know.
The pain varies by the days. Somethimes it's worse somethimes I hardly feel it but it's always this feeling that something is not right even though I'm not always in pain.
The pain gets triggered by sitting, driving, eating to much carbohydrates, and chilli peppers are the worst. I see a correlation between the pain and bowel movements. If I strain alot during toilet time the pain will worsen, like some nerves gets inflamed by the pressing. In normal cases the pain will lessen about 30 minutes after bowel movement. Probably because the area is not as strained as before BM.
To minimize the pain I eat a very low carb diet, mainly meat, this has helped me a lot. My body and particularly my stomach has been so much better since switching my diet. This releaves the pressure on the nerves from the bowel. Been doing this for more than 2 years.
I train a lot, even did boxing last year before corona, went to university for 3 years and started a company during this time of pain. So don't give up guys.
Anyway, 5 years ago I did many examinations. I did CT, ultrasounds, visited several urologists and surgeons. I visited many specialized clinics and got referred to one of the best surgeons in Scandinavia at the time who is now retired. He found the problem immidiately.
Like the Guest here wrote, the surgeon suspected a pinched genitofemoral nerve or the surrounding nerves. He gave me a nerve block injection during that first appointment straight into the genitofemoral nerve and ALL pain was gone. It was like a miracle. The pain came back some weeks later and I got another 2 or 3 injections before they stopped being effective. Doctor wanted to perform surgery and somehow release parts of the genitofemoral nerve and the cremaster muscle but the hospital did not let him perform the surgery due to lack of knowledge to the area. This made me depressed but at the same time it would be a little risky to do the surgery because I would have lost some sense/feeling on the right side of the scrotum/testicle.
I then lived on thinking it could go away with time which is hasn't. Now (5 years later) I'm scheduled for new examinations and MRI. I've contacted surgeons from other countries and even looked up clinics in other countries that may treat this condition. I will never give up. If nothing works I plan on having stem cell injections into the nervs. But it's very costly and I recently had a major setback economically, loosing everything I owned so it will take some time to get there. But it's my last resort.
This thread has been quiet for a while but I will keep you updated on my journey resolving this problem.
Regards,
Tony
