What is acoustic neuroma? I have just been diagnosed with it this morning and still I am fighting with the thought that I have tumor near my brain. You already know the core of your condition – tumor near your brain. But, you forgot to add one very important thing – benign tumor. It is a structure that forms from vestibule – cochlear nerve. The standard procedure would include detailed observation of the tumor structure, followed by microsurgical removal and then stereotactic radiation therapy. You are lucky that of all tumors you have this one, benign and treatable.
