That was a rude and unnecessary comment. The pain after is excruciating and to tell someone to suck it up. You need smacked in the mouth!!!

I had 5 or so removed on a Tuesday, some external and some internal. The ones that where internally remove where also burned and then stitched. I tried to have a BM of that Friday but the bleeding was much much more then the amount of one teaspoon that the doctor told me, she said that if it’s more to head the the ER. The pain was so intense that it felt worse then anything I have ever dealt with. I felt like I was getting ripped apart. I was told in the ER that I was not passing because the Vicodin makes the stool solid. When I was in the ER I had to get an enoma to help with the BM. It was pretty painful but not as much as it was at home. Today is Sunday and I take showers and baths several times though out the day, I use the ointment every 2 hours and drink a whole
1 Pint of water per a 3 hour period. The pain during the BM is limited but after it does burn a lot. Today I had to take my Vicodin. I hope that this get better soon. I feel like the I am only getting the butt end of this and it does take a lot to even get some what comfortable.

I had a hemorrhoidectomy 10/12/17. I had an external and a large internal hemorrhoid that hurt really bad before I thought about surgery. My doctors told me that surgery would be painful but I never thought this bad. The first night was fine until the meds wore off. I took a Percocet and I got so sick. It didn't take to pain away, I had to call my doctor to get nausea medicine to take with the Percocet. I felt good as long as I was chilling in my bed. I was told to take milk of magnesia and mineral oil everyday to have soft BM's. But when I had my first BM it was so painful I cried! I couldn't sit on the toilet and poop because it felt like I was passing broken glass. I was shaking, screaming, crying for my mom and asking the lord why??? I was gritting my teeth and dry heaving. I ran a warm bath and I got in and passed out, when I woke up I still was in pain and moaning for an hour. I chewed two Percocet in the mist of it all but the pain wasn't instantly taken away. All my BM were just like this until day 4. I decided to have a BM in the tub because the warm water soothed my anal area. I found it hard to pee, I had a tone of pressure. But I'd didn't like having to have a BM constantly because of the mineral oil and milk of magnesia. Everything I eat comes right out and I dread drinking water and eating right now. Today is day 5 and I just found out about Lidocaine gel to numb my anus and I hope it work because I'm over this pain. To anyone out here this surgery is horrible and severe!!!! The BM's to be specific....the pain meds keep me up all night

I do take stools softener it does help but, is awful. I am trying to stay away from Percocet. I’m taking Aleve for pain management. I just hope it will get better. Speedy recovery!

I had the surgery 2 weeks ago. I experienced the majority of the pain days was from not being able to urinate. I would stand for hours with just a trickle before a real stream. I did do a full colposcopy type cleansing before the surgery so I think that may have helped since I did not have a bm until the 3rd day.No problems now with bms except sometimes I feel like I am not completely empty and don’t want to strain for fear of posssible damaging something since I do still have some ooze. Hopefully not still packing in there. I do have a lot of extra skin tag closure which my doc said would shrink when swelling goes down and he had to leave some just because of how large the Roid was and how many stitches it needed. even with the amount of pain I definitely would say the surgery was worth it especially if I continue improvement from here. Being able to use the bathroom without having the pain of pushing a roid back in has been great. Make sure to take the pain meds (mine was 2 OxyContin every 6 hours and a valum) for the first week, after that I went back to work and only take them at night to help ease some of the swelling. Seems like life is quickly getting back to normal and hopefully the left over tag will not be an issue over time.

I had my HEMORRHOIDECTOMY on Dec. 5, 2017 and when I woke up in recovery, I felt GREAT! The pain in my a#$ didn't REALLY kick in until 5 hours later after the procedure. I even had diarrhea on myself 3 hours AFTER the procedure when I reached home and believe ME- a BM whether loose or solid DIRECTLY following a hemmorhoidectomy Is HORRENDOUS pain!! It is now 2 weeks after the surgery and I STILL cannot sit to have a BM.......I stand up over the toilet bowl!! The pain, bleeding, and some posing are still prevalent but what can 1 do. I notice that 2 weeks later, my swelling still looks like hemorrhoids so I beginning to wonder if it was a success or do I have to go back for more removal? Physically or emotionally I'm NOT strong enough to endure. I hope your ending story of healing process will turn out better than my own. Good Luck

Just had the surgery 10 days ago. 45 min bath as hot as you can stand several times a day helps with swelling inside and out. If you have to, drain some water when it starts to cool and fill back up with hot. Repeat as needed.
