I am a 13 year old girl who was a competitive gymnast for about 7 years, but I stopped last year. I am a dancer now, and though I am taking a lot of classes a week in jazz, modern, ballet, and pre-pointe, I am worried that I am not active enough and am gaining too much weight. In gymnastics, I was doing about 16 hours of very difficult training per week and now I am doing only about 5 hours a week. I eat healthy and I know that I have grown a few inches since stopping gymnastics, but I constantly feel like I am gaining bad weight. I am 5 ft 2 in and weigh about 98 pounds. My family and some other people say that I'm skinny, but I still feel fat all the time. I kinda want to be underweight because dancers shouldn't have any extra weight. Am I overweight?

Hello Dancer2298,

Just to let you know the lowest a girl of 5'2 can weigh is 108. So you're definitely not overweight. Actually you're under the lowest. Just don't worry about it WAY to much you can become anorexic at such a young age that in the future it will be hard to break out of.
