I have been taking Amitryptiline since 1996 and have also suffered severe pruritis for much of that time.

I have seen a dermatologist who suggested various medications.

After trying them all (including Capsaicin) I now use a very strong steroid cream (Dermovate) which just abouts controls the itching, but I can only use it for 5 days a month as it thins the skin.

I wonder if the Amitryptiline could be the cause of the itching.

nb. I also take a dozen other drugs as I have Behcet's Disease (an auto-immune disease) so of course, it could be something else. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
