Hi, I'm a 20-year-old female and I had a bedwetting problem as a child. It died down in my teens, maybe once every 2 or 3 years, but its hapened a good four times in just the past 2 years and I need help. My friend suggested going to the doctor but I work two jobs and go to college, not to mention my doctor is a 30 minute drive away. We were going through what might have caused it and I came up with a couple solutions.
As a child I was diagnosed with weak bladder muscles, most of the time I couldn't hold it and quite often I didn't realize i had to go until it was too late. I said maybe it was that because I didn't feel i had to go when I was woken up by dogs at 3 in the morning but at 7:30 am, i woke up having to go and found I had already wet the bed quite a bit. But my friend suggested that maybe it had something to do with a traumatic incident. When I was a child, I suffered daily rape from a babysitter, it was ongoing from when I was about 5, maybe even 4, to when I was 10 and it was discovered. Is it possible that stress from that is what causes my bedwetting? I don't remember my dreams when I wake up and I've wet the bed so my friend thinks I'm reliving the incident. Does anyone else have this problem?
